Product Manager/Account Manager, Personal Care/HI&I – Northeast (BH 1228)
Summary: Our client manufactures specialties for the personal and home care markets. They are seeking a Product Manager in the northeast-NJ, NY, PA with NJ preferred.
This is a rare hybrid role which involves business development/sales as well as product management. This person will be charged with managing two product lines. The responsibilities will include staying up-to-date on the competitive landscape and market trends, managing the numbers: supply, inventory, pricing, etc. as well as motivating and supporting the sales force. This person will also be responsible for managing their own accounts in the northeast. Depending on the individual, some accounts might be outside of the northeast region.
The Ideal candidate will have a technical background or education, at least 1 year of chemical sales in the care markets, plus some business analysis, project or product management experience…pricing, project management, portfolio management etc.
- Will consider someone out of different chemical market such as painting and coatings
- Will consider someone without sales if they are truly committed to a sales role and have had some customer interface (technical service, applications lab, marketing coordinator, etc.)
- Will consider someone without a technical background if they show the acumen.
- Geography of accounts will be based on the individual, but someone who is willing to travel 50% of the time is preferred. A candidate who can’t travel that much will be considered, if they have good experience
Base salary plus generous commissions. Highly promotable as the business is performing well and the company is growing.
